Wembdon Village Day 2011

Bank Holiday Monday was a warm if overcast day at times but it did not stop thousands of people coming to the car boot sale, fruit and flower show and the many stalls, all the raise money for Wembdon Community Association who supports many groups within the village, including the 1st Bridgwater (St Georges) Wembdon Scouts who are linked with the group in our twin town of Marsa who has a large strong group with a pipe and drum band (see pictures April 2011)

After a break of a few years due to health and work commitments we were grateful to the WCA who gave us a place to erect our gazebo and promote our association.  We had many people stop for a chat including old friends and we were able to give out literature given to us by the Malta Tourist Board.  We had a raffle, the first prize being a £100 holiday voucher given to us by Chevron Holidays whose main destinations are Malta and Gozo. We had many other prizes and raised money towards helping our scouts get to Malta in the future. The winner of first prize was Sam Chivers from Westonzoyland.

We would like to thank all who donated prizes and everyone who bought tickets.
