On a very busy holiday to Malta recently Steve and Pat Morgan met up with twinning friends from Marsa on many occasions and met more friends and families. They explored more of the island and found out much more about local life and customs. They attended a feast in a near by area and enjoyed 2 nights of fire works and saw the saint from the church paraded around the village while enjoying the company of friends.

We were very proud to meet one of our Vice Presidents who is a MEP .He has been elected on 6th June 2008 to lead the opposition party in the Maltese government. He is one of the youngest men to be elected to his post age 34 yrs old- He is Dr Joseph Muscat he has been visiting various areas of the island to meet the people and hold rallies. We met him at Birzebbuga where one of Marsa’s councillors has a summer residence While we waited for him to arrive we were introduced to several MP’s and to Joseph’s wife Michelle, his mother-in-law and their beautiful 9 month twin girls. (If you look on a search engine you can find information about his career) there was a large crowd to listen to him and he was received very well.

He was interested to remain a VP even though he will be leaving the EU parliament to take up his new post. He posed for pictures with the Mercury and showed interest in the Scout’s linking he also signed a poster of himself dedicated to the Twinning Association. We felt very privileged to have met such and important man and that he was so interested in our association.
