Wembdon Village day.
On Bank Holiday Monday the 27th August the village of Wembdon which is on the outskirts of Bridgwater, now with only a few green fields separating the houses holds it’s annual event. There is the flower show with classes for every sort of garden produce, flowers, baking, art and crafts. There are also classes for children. The winners all win prizes and the prestige of winning.
There is a very large car boot sale and many stalls with games and competitions. The beautiful church is open. The whole event is the product of a very hard working committee and all the money raised goes towards funding things the village will benefit from.
Our Association was invited to have a space on the village green area to promote the association, raise awareness and promote our Maltese evening.
Despite all the press coverage there was many people who were unaware we existed and that Wembdon Scout Group were twinned with the group in Marsa.
The photos show the display we put on to show the island and culture and the association. We had a tiring but enjoyable day. The weather was kind to us, unlike the rest of the summer.
