Rembrance Service 2012

           Remembrance Sunday November 11th 2012

This year as ever members of the Association joined the dignitaries and the people of Bridgwater at the War Memorial in Kings Square to remember those who have lost their lives in war.

This year we decided at the AGM to lay a wreath to commemorate the people in Malta who lost their lives in the Second World War. They received the George Cross for their bravery which is now part of the Maltese flag.

Our President the Mayor Graham Granter invited us to join the official parade from the Town Hall along the High Street to King Square. After the service led by the vicar of St Mary’s Church Charles Chadwick and the 2 minutes silence Mike Grabner our Chairman and Pat Morgan Secretary laid a  Cross made of poppies on the War Memorial- a very solemn moment.
