At Bridgwater Fair (which runs from the last Wednesday in September for 4 days) we decided to try to reach a larger number of people of the town. One of our members has a garage on Albert Street-a street that people can walk through to the Fair field and he suggested we use it to show people the Maltese Islands and promote ourselves and he has worked hard to enable this. For several years the Association has taken part in Wembdon Village Day but due to other commitments were not able to support it this year. We have been very well supported by the Malta Tourist Association with lots of information to give away.
The 1st Bridgwater St Georges Wembdon Scout Group are linked with the 1st Marsa Scout Group and are planning a visit to a camp site in Malta at the Island Headquarters camp site which is very close to the capital Valletta just after Easter 2013.
Our President Mayor Graham Granter presented a cheque for £400 from the Association to Scout Leader Lorna Walker and Assistant Scout Leader James Morgan to help towards the cost of the camp. It was watched by members of the Association, councillors and the Mayors cadet.
